I have been with iglou for many years. My service is 1500/256 and is bridged not PPPoE (thats good). The dsl service is always stable but my big complaint is the lack of service from bellsouth. About 6 months ago my line quality went terrible. It was a very erratic problem and difficult to pin. Bellsouth basically said tough luck and iglou was powerless to do anything about it. I was fortunate enough to have a connection in the right place at Bellsouth who had the line tested and determined it was a bad pair. The pair was swapped and the line went back to it's previous performance. I get 3 static ips, 1500/256 (usually clocks at 1220/213) for $54 a month. This used to be $49 but thanks to the Kentucky state legislature I'm paying an additional $5/month. Iglou just rolled out new lower pricing for PPPoE circuits that is considerable less than bridged. The LITE version comes in at $24.95/month which beats the AOL's 23.95 for dial-up.
I was asked to update my review.....
Here it is 2010 and I have been a HAPPY IGLOU customer for close to 15 years. They are nothing flashy just a solid ISP providing DSL and whatever else you need. I recently had some line issues where my speed went in the toilet. IGLOU gave me a loaner modem for 30 days free to see if my modem had failed. The new modem solved the issue and I bought a new one from IGLOU for the same price I can get it online. I could have rented it from them at $1.50/month but I choose to buy. I continue to run my little webserver and IGLOU has no qualms with that whatsoever. These guys rock.
***UPDATE***
After nearly 17 years with IGLOU I finally had to bid them farewell. It was nothing they did wrong. AT&T basically refuses to service the phone lines. I live in an area that is running on 50 year old copper and is not and will never be UVerse capable. AT&T has basically thrown in the towel and has let the area sink. Line quality is poor and frequently I got less than 5% of my rated speed. IGLOU tried but they can't control AT&T which basically said they see no problem. I had to go to cable.......
