I placed my order for 3000/768 DSL service with DSL extreme on 6/7/2008. It took 5 full business days before I had my activation date of 6/18/2008. I was ordering DSL for a location I was soon to be moving to, and moving day wasn't until 6/21/2008, so the plan was to get there and have DSL already up and ready to just plug in to. That plan worked perfectly. When I ordered the DSL though, I didn't know I was ordering the DSL connection through Covad instead of Verizon. It appears that Covad like Verizon, configures the line for interleave mode instead of fastpath mode, and I'm not sure if Covad will switch that to fastpath as of yet. I can say that line sync rates for Covad connected DSL lines at 3000/768 are 3008 down and 768 up, so no overhead there like Verizon does. I have a Dlink DSL modem, and so far anyway, the connection has been solid.
