After my contract with CenturyTel expires, I will be moving over to cable. DSL through CenturyTel is just too big of a hassle. Two weeks ago a server died at our local CenturyTel hub, and we were without service for 3 days. Every time we called for an update, we had to go through the same scripted nonsense to 'troubleshoot' our connection. Some customer support people were aware of the outage, some were not. Either way, no explanation was given and no time frame for repair was offered.
The local field repair staff is excellent, but unfortunately are not our first available line of contact for support.
