I've been boycotting Comcast since mid-2008 over their illegal packet injection attacks, but I'm at the point where the best speed offered by CenturyLink in my area is simply not sufficient for my needs. 896Kbps outbound does not cut it. Intermittent PPPoE disconnects plus 30 sec to 30 min of auth failure when the modem is still synced fine do not cut it. I looked at Business DSL, and for 12Mbps down, 2 Mbps up, Centurylink wants more than DOUBLE Comcast's price for 16Mbps down, 3Mbps up. CenturyLink oversells their last-mile equipment worse than Qwest did. Translation: every evening after work, speed drops. I thought at worst things would stay the same as Qwest. I was wrong. It's no small feat to push me back into the arms of Comcast, but I'm gone. member for 11.5 years, 9 visits, last login: 7.8 years ago lodged 11.5 years ago |
