I looked at pricing compared to competitors in my area and century link came out as number one. They have excellent service and regional support centers. If you need a replacement modem it can be there within one day. They are top notch and I recommend them each and every time. They don't bog you down with commitments. After-all, a company's service should want you to stay with them and be a long time customer anyway. As long as they keep offering that service i'll continue to use them. I have the 12mbps down and 896 up. The ordering and install process was a breeze. I initially had the actiontec q1000 modem which I received in 09/2011. Currently getting the c1000a. When I first signed up for service last year, I was having issues with the line it took two attempts to get it done because the first tech came to our house and didn't bother to check in with me before he left and the service was still not up to speed. I had to wait another few days for the next tech to come and do it properly. Really was the tech's fault and a supervisor from Century Link was very understanding and helpful. So in the one year and close to two months as of me writing this, the service has only recently ran into problems starting this 11/2012. I believe they will get it working right and can't say that is bad at all for the length I've been with them. They really care about their clients.

Poor customer service, expensive and SLOW -DSL,

I'm getting 2 mbs, not the 7 mbs that I expected. Customer service is from the Philipines, who don't know much about ISP problems only how to turn on and off a modem and reset it...as most people already know. I was put on hold for 20 minutes before they disconnected me and never called me back. The second time I hung up after being on hold and they did call back only to be put on hold for another 10 minutes with no supervisor to talk to.

If you have ANY other internet option, use it! Century Link seems to be a dying dinosaur.
