I have had Qwest/Centurylink DSL since 2002 when I first signed up I had 256/256, when 3/640 came to my area I upgraded, then 5/896, 7/896, now (fought for that) 12/896. There are no upgrades coming any time soon. I tried to push to get pair bonded DSL but they would not let me get it they have the type of equipment to do it but willnot due to "loop length"

Update I moved into a area that has Mediacom switched to them and love it no more laggy speeds I get 105mb/10mb with them.

irresponsible customer service

We were with Centurylink for 9 1/2 years and gradually have seen the unreliable service escalating to a stop. On a weekend we lost power and did not receive it back till the following Thursday. All they said was 'sorry.' No payment necessary for those 6 days, and no special considerations for all the trips to local libraries, ect!
A few days later, lost internet connection again! After some discussing the situation, they sent out their best tech to fix the problem. We switched to Comcast within 2 weeks. When husband called Century link to cancel, their system was down! A note was placed for cancellation, but written in wrong to where only the phone service was requested to be downgraded. Now they want 3 weeks worth of internet fees because their system was down and they did not call us back for issues regarding what services should be cancelled as of the date when their system was down.
Century link is very unreliable and n o t customer oriented. I'd give them negative 5 stars!

Century link is the worst!

I called several times just trying to get what I pay for .49mbps up and .1 down is what I get on DSL. They coukd switch me over to a fiber two blocks away but the company is too screwed up to commmunicate with their own people. Even the tech that came to the house could not work with them.

Frankie put me on hold when I asked to speak to a supervisor and then somehow locked it up so I could not hang up and call back. Dave flat out lied and told me it would be fixed in three hours. The sales people do not care anything about customer service period!

Shane in Salem Oregon seems to give a rats ass but we will see in a few days if it gets better.
