note:this is not dsl, this is dial up

for $9.99 for service and $25 for another phone line, Its not bad for someone that just wants to check email but me, I like to play onlines games, watch movies, and download files. Where I live, There is no dsl or cable internet yet. But if there was, I would switch as fast as I can.

For some reason they dropped my speed from 44kbps to 33kbps. Might be nothing for you but for me its alot since I only got so much bandwidth to play with. Wish I could tether my iPhone since I get 4 3G bars inside my house. Man my computer is way out of date but really cant get viruses due to the slow speed of dial up. Both AT&T and TWC says my area is not ready for their high speed internet. CRAP!

    Mobile broadband

Why don't you look into mobile broadband? Verizon has a plan starting at 39.99 a month. All you need is to purchase the USB wireless modem and start a plan. It would cost you $5 more than what your paying for now. A friend of mine has it, mobile broadband IS fast. He wanted highspeed, but didnt want the extra phone line for DSL and he didnt want a cable line. Check it out, it might work for you.

    Re: Mobile broadband

I borrowed a sprints card from a guy at work and it didn't work in my house. The only reason I haven't got a card from AT&T is because I have an iPhone and I would hate if they bring out tethering for it and I already purchased a card from AT&T. What im probably going to do is see what the broadband plan will do for me (if anything at all). Till then I will live with this dial up that ive been living with for 7 years.
