Last year I decided to switch from Dial Up to DSL. At this time, Embarq was Sprint. I was loving the service and the speeds where what I was suppose to be getting (1.5 mbps). I started to really get into games and decided to get a static IP so I could run servers and stuff. It only took less than a week for them to set it up on my line. Then 2006 came. On May 17, 2006 when Sprint became Embarq. When the switch was over, me and my friend started to notice and our speeds where dipping down a little bit. I called Embarq and decided to upgrade to 5.0 mbps. After that my speed what where it was supposed to be. Fast forward a couple of months later, my internet starts to really slow down. It slows down to 389 kbps download and 576 kbps upload. I called Embarq and they made me go though a lot of stuff with my modem and my router. My internet speed goes back up. Then a couple of days later, it goes back down. I call Embarq again and this time they said that they are going to send a technician to come look at my line. At this point I am fed up with Embarq and I am considering switching to another service provider. Now before you start replying to this review saying that my internet speeds are slow because I must be far away from my service provider's office in my area, I am not far away from it. I am less than a mile away. Just a little side note, my friend has 3.0 mbps and is getting the same speeds I am getting.
