I placed an order with Embarq.
The lady on the phone in North Carolina was very informative and helpful.
They overnighted the DSL modem to me, it arrived 3 days before the circuit was even due. I was rather impressed with that.
I will update as things materialize.

Turned on as promised at 12:00pm. Latency seems high at 45-50ms to the first hop, but overall from where I came from it is rock solid.

I switched to fastpath about 3 weeks ago. It has been rock solid, no complaints. Not as fast or cost-effective as RoadRunner, but MUCH more stable.
