    I had sprint dsl for 2 years then they changed to embarq during that time the connection became better ant better.

    The only time we lose service is either because of sprintlink(fiber cut) or power failure other than that it is never down.

    Speeds and pings are rock solid
    3mb/640k with a constant 8-9ms first hop

    update
    embarq has had some bandwidth issues and some high latency issues with there sl-sprintwrbm-33-0.sprintlink.net hop where many problems occour.
    This has been happening for more that two months, which in turn makes gaming impossible.
    Hopefully since official support is now on the forums they will look into this issue
