"DNS sometimes slow and slow routing from time to time"
"Works OK for its price"

Connection: cable (DHCP) Modem: Scientific Atlanta Webstar Speed: max is about 3500-3800 mbps Down (Slows a bit at peak hours) and 750 kbps Up
Installation went easy and worked first time. After a few months, a tecnician had to come and fix sync problems, it was a loosely connected filter outside the house (The initial installation guy had very weak hands it seems !).
The connection works as expected, with few glitches. Downloads are consistent and fast.
The only problems I've had are: - Their phone support is miserable, but aren't they all ? - Their DNS servers are slow to respond from time to time. - They have routing problems at some of their entry points to the major pipelines, causing pages to load a bit slower than they should (tracert shows unstable ping times); I also use Sympatico service (1200 kbps Down/ 640 kbps UP) and browsing is "snappier" than Videotron.
Latest improvement: They are FINALLY providing multiple mailboxes and antivirus services for Emails. They had only email aliases for years.
[January 2005] I moved to another area, and the reinstallation was quick and problem free.
[June 2006] I moved to another area, and the reinstallation was quick and problem free.
[December 2008] The mail servers are sometimes losing emails (incoming and outcoming) without any form of notification. I don't really know if the problem is Videotron or their "relationships" with the other ISPs...
