I ordered RR for my house on December 4 and set up an appointment on December 8th. I was gonna get Verizon DSL but I heard about the horror stories about it and chose cable instead. The installation guys came right on time in their window of time. The installation of the cable into my house was pretty smooth (because I had no cable running into my house). They set up the cable box (a very ugly one at that) and then I had to wait an hour for another guy to come and install the service. When the installation guy came (right in the middle of my lunch I might add) to install the service. They guy tried to install the service but couldn't find a IP address. He left me hanging to call RR Tech Support. I must say, the installation guy was a real idiot. He spoke broken English half the time and wasn't helpful at all. He even asked for my phone to make a personal call. Crazy fool. I called Tech Support and they were very helpful. But, the problem with the tech support it the enormous time i spent on hold listening to their horrible "hold" music. I finally got the service set up after spending the entire afternoon on the phone and fixing the problem. Too bad the installation guy never came back to install the RR software. Now I'm stuck using IE for internet and an dusty RR CD which I can't install (because it doesn't work on XP). I don't even have a RR email account. It's still a very good service.

Overall, the service from RR is great. I'm getting speeds around 9400 down and 490 up (much better than advertised). RR offers great speed for the price. This is definitely much better than the competition (only Verizon DSL in this area). I will be sticking with RR for the forseeable future...or until FiOS rolls out here.
