Now that I moved to the Houston area my Roadrunner performance is much better compared to when I used it in Austin. Now I never go offline and the connection speeds stay at a constant high. I would say on the low end my speeds have been about 800Kbps and on the high end a steady 2Mbps. Since I don't do a lot of downloading it's plenty fast for me.

I was lucky to get a technicial who knew his stuff. He not only was able to get the connection up on the computer with no hassles (and no additional software) he also was able to do some quick troubleshooting on my sister's computer while finishing up the cable connection. I'm sure most technicians don't have anything near an A+ equivalent in computer knowledge, but this guy did. Cool or what?

I have heard a mess of complaints from other cable broadband customers about raised rates and such. So far I haven't seen any indication of it happening here. I don't know if that's Roadrunner as a company or just my area. I still miss having Grande for broadband though. They had a great tiered service for people who don't really need the 3Mb connections but can enjoy lower speeds by paying less for it. Too bad there isn't much competition in local cable broadband.
