OK, no speeds promised, but I'm getting 2000+ down and 368 up solid. And for $26.95 a month for the first 6 months and then $44.95 a month thereafter, with NO CONTRACT!! I previously had the most unreliable DSL connection I've heard of (See my review of Ameritech). The installer came at the time promised and was in and out in less than an hour. I have a dynamic IP, got rid of PPPoE and have nothing but good things to report so far. I'll keep a diary so as things come up (or go down) I'll be able to document.
Well, off to go surf the web (remember the RR commerical where the guy was surfing and then the computer told him he'd reached the end of the internet?) ROTFLOL!!
---(Added 4*12*03) Road Runner is the best ISP in this area in my opinion.
My initial assessment is still valid. RR is the best choice for the money in this area if it's available to you.
---(Added 6-5-06) Just migrated to the teleworker package. 7/768 and a static IP for $70 per month. Tasty!
---(Added 3*19*08) RR Business Class is the Sh*t!! OK, I dumped the static and for 44.95 I get 10/2- consistently. Get it while you can
---(Added 2-9-09) Everything I've said previously is still true. 10/2 MB consistently. For $49 in this area you can't beat it!
