From start to finish install was minutes, they made me have someone out even though I told them it was completely unecessary but he was really quick and on time!! I'm in tech support so I have never had to call support, customer service from Time Warner is adequate though I have a friend with a nightmare billing story. My connection has never went down in a year except for the blackout, which was completely expected but I had access within an hour of the power being on, and the reason it took that long was probably backlogged DHCP serers from all the modems coming back up at once. I pay 59.95 a month because I dont have cable tv and thats steep I know Optonline only gets 49.95 for just cable internet.without TV much more reasonable. Mail is reliable, the newsgroups are my only real complaint, they really just suck, incompletes and such are the norm, retention is crappy but to be honest I dont really expect alot from an ISP for newsgroups anyway, always better to find a good provider outside. I would definately reccommend RR to someone who asked me. OH and speeds are consistent at about 2700Kbps uploads could be better but I cant complain too much.

Roadrunner stinks, they could have the worst tech support I have ever seen. I worked for Cablevision as tech a few years back and RR techs dont even come close. I use Vonage so calling every time there is a problem means wasting cell minutes. It takes almost 7 minutes just to fight through the most cumbersome IVR EVER!!! Then wasting time with the moronic techs in Level 1 is mindnumbing. I had them in Maspeth for 3 years and the last year really sucked. Now in Rego Park, after about 6 months and service is unreliable and tech support lives up to my previous claims. I called yesterday about an issue on their network and instead of listening the moronic tech starts troubleshooting completely unrelated things. Below is a pingplotter capture showing exactly what the problem is andthe morons set up an appt to send a tech to my house. Packet loss 3 hops out from my modem and they are sending someone to me. I cannot wait till FIOS is here. I truly hope the competition kills RR and causes mass firings of their crappy tech dept.
