Ordered RR when I was offered one month free cable TV service with free installation from Time Warner. Had ADSL at the time, but am very very frustrated with my local telco billing (always something wrong on bill), so I also ordered Road Runner HSI at three months at half price, with no installation charges and no contract. When I first got RR it was 2000/384, but thay since have upgraded to down 3000/384 up. Install was exactly on time with no problems - technician was very knowledgeable about computers. They furnished a new Toshiba PCX2500 modem with no monthly rental charge - have a dynamic IP address. It was almost as simple as unpluging the Cat5 cable from my ADSL modem and pluging it into the Cable modem. In fact that is what I did for one month, switching back and forth from cable to ADSL, before I canceled ADSL service. I self installed the ADSL modem and NIC card. He said the cable RR installation he did was considered a self install. This past summer had a one hour HSI (RR) outage, but cable TV was OK. Last Friday/Saturady, 12/26-27/03, had a sixteen hour outage of both cable TV and RR HSI - could not even get their dial-up service to work - later after RR was up then dial-up install completed and was OK. Currently paying $44.95/month for RR without bundling. They are now offering 150 channels, twice the cable TV channels I'm getting (now 73), bundled with RR for approximately the same rate (for six months). Now paying approx. $87/month, 150 Ch. + RR approx. - $92/month after six months, which includes the 01/01/04 rate increase. member for 23 years, 2430 visits, last login: 4.1 years ago updated 11 years ago
