Coming from Verizon, I expect the best connection. My Verizon connection never failed me and had a constant speed of 2.8 Mb down and 721 up. Recently, a Time Warner sales person came to my house and talked to my dad about the Triple Play. My dad was not interested but I managed to convince. Called for the 129.95 Triple Play. Cable/Internet on 3/16/06 and Digital Phone on 3/25/06 because I'm porting my old number. Installation was scheduled to be 12-4. At 1:55 a tech showed up. Very nice guy, spoke Spanish, which was a plus since my dad was talking to him. He placed a splitter in the main line and ran a line to the cable modem and one to the TV. After that, another splitter from the TV to other TV and another splitter from that TV to another TV. He was very nice and even decided to run new wiring. All done very professional. Ok, Cable set up, now internet. He got the Arris Cable/VoIp modem out of the box and hooked it up. He called the office to authenticate the MAC address. Everything went fine. Then, he noticed that the Line 1, 2 lines were not flashing as there were supposed to because I was also scheduled to get VoIp on the 25th. Ok, one more call, and WAM! Everything was good He then logged on to tech.nyc.rr.com and entered my modem's MAC Address and saw the modem log and all, and the signal and stuff. He then stepped aside and said to give it a try! Wow!

Very happy so far! lol, only had the service for 30 mins.
Update: 5/20/06
After two months, I'm still glad I switched from Verizon to TWC. I do miss the 768kbps upload supplied by Verizon nothing the added 2,000 kbps cant make up for. There are some rumors going around that TWC will implement a speed increase. YAY!! Rumors, but probably true. I haven't rated the Tech Support because I've had no need to call them. The speed is rock solid and even sometimes I get over the 5,000 kbps cap!! Great!! The upload is very constant at 340 kbps. Even when using the Digital Phone I get the constant speed. The modem is great, and has given me no trouble even though I have never turned it off and use it with my router. Overall, the services provided by TWC are top quality, a little expensive, but as the saying goes, " Cheap can sometimes result in expensive ".

Update: 08/30/06
Looks like I counted my chickens before they hatched. RoadRunner customers in Manhattan (only) have been downgraded back to pre-upgrade speeds. Nevertheless, I'm getting 4.92/367. Still waiting on the upgrade.
Update: 09/30/06
RoadRunner customers in Manhattan have yet to be upgraded. Customers in the other boroughs never lost the speed upgrade. Still getting 4.92/368. Solid connection, no downtime. Spoke to some Level 3 tech's and they assure me that the speed upgrade is a work in progress. Also, my modem's firmware was upgraded. C'mon RR, bring us the speed upgrade.
