First I should add that I have not only my internet service through Time Warner Cable, but also have my phone and cable tv service with them as well. I really like bunching all of it together and so far, I have had no serious problems. A little confusion after first receiving it though. The person who brought the modem (for cable/phone/internet) explained to me 1 way of setting up my accounts online and the book that came with it explained it another way. I was having serious issues going to the website that they said to go onto to set up my Outlook Express. Getting online was not the issue. I could get online with no problems. A lot faster than the dial-up that I had been used to. After calling TWC and finally being directed to someone who could understand my issue - it was then a breeze to finish. (Just had to learn a lot of new programs - upgraded to Windows XP as well) The only problem that I can think of was electrical and had nothing to do with the computer or modem itself.
It took 7 days from order to success because I chose to wait. When I called and placed the order, I could have been set up within a day or two. However, seeing that I was going to have the phone line connected along with the modem - that work order was longer so I waited on the cable connection until both could be done at the same time.
Now you have to bear with me though. A lot of the computer language I am still learning and some things I am not so sure of. What I do know is that I called, I ordered, they installed, it worked, I pay for service (reasonably, I think)!
Using: Webstar modem through USB port. Have a Dell Dimension 4100 Series computer - 1GHz. 128 MB (which I know is not a lot of memory, will be getting more eventually)
Costs: RR service $39.95 + digital phone $39.95 + cable tv w/DVR (roughly) $88.00 (w/premium channels, HBO, Showtime, Starz) GRAND TOTAL = $174.88/month **Installation was free**

Wow, has it really been a year already? Time sure flies when you don't experience any problems.
Recently purchased a new computer (iMac) and hooked it up to the modem (cable and phone) and really didn't have too much trouble other than I did not know what I was doing. LOL
Still functioning. No complaints.
