Originally we signed up with Adelphia. I was out of town when the tech was here. According to my girlfriend the install was done by a proffessional and knowledgeable tech. We did have him come back and install all new lines throughout the home at a later date to maximize service. My connection has always been rock solid and my speeds are actually better than advertised most of the time. The main reasons I get great speeds is due to a well maintained network where all tweeks an proper maintanence are employed. I have never had a situation where I needed to call tech support I handle all that myself. All I expect from my ISP is the connection I pay for. For the 5 Mbps down x 384 Kbps up package I usually see just over 5 Mbps down and around 420 Kbps up according to www.speakeasy.net. I was told by the sales rep for $10 I could get the Premium service with 8 Mbps down x 512 Kbps up. For me this is pointless. I like to play online games and while my service gets me by I would gladly pay $10 for a package more like this 5 Mbps down x 2 Mbps up. Along with the internet I also have HD service with DVR. I cant help saying im still bitter about Time Warner dropping the NFL Network. Fios will be here soon so if I cant get atleast 2Mbps upload from Time Warner im calling Verizon and getting it all from them. Internet, TV, Home Phone and Cell.
Im now on the 15/2 meg plan. Im currently testing 14/1.7 . Not bad and Im much happier now than when TW first took over. Doesnt matter though Fios is here and Ill be switching soon. Doesnt matter what TW does now. Im going to drop them anyways. Lousy customer service. No flexibility. Still havent faced reality and I want my NFL network. I dont care what the issue is. Its not my problem. Oh yeah and the HD DVR box is a peice of crap. Ive seen better quality knockoffs from Taiwan.
