Ambit U10C018 modem 6000/512 tier Service started 24 Jan 07
Install was scheduled one week after order was placed. The guy showed up on time but told me the appointment was cancelled due to a company restriction against climbing poles in the wind. That must put a dent in their productivity, because Fontana (and Ontario) are located at the mouth of Cajon Pass and are regularly subjected to major league Santa Ana Winds. They showed up one week after that and managed to get the install taken care of between blows.
The part I didn't like was how they kept me in the dark after that first guy came out and told me I'd be rescheduled. An email was sent to the installation email address and was acknowledged, but never followed up on. I wasn't aware of how their phone system will see what number you're calling from and automatically advise you of your status, in my case my scheduled install. Due to the long waits I encountered just ordering the service, I had been hesitant to get into the on hold loop again and had tried other means to find out what they weren't telling me. Once I finally made that call, I was pleasantly surprised to learn of that auto update feature, and all went well after that.
The install included the HSI and digital cable. The guy was on time and professional, neat and courteous.
I'm a happy customer so far.
19 May 07: Download speeds now up in the high 5k, up from the high 3k, low 4k.
