I had Verizon DSL 3000/768 service. The speeds became unreliable and towards to end downright slow. Made switch to RoadRunner, getting 7000/512 package for less than Verizon's 3000/768. It costs me $99 a month but that includes Digital Cable and Digital Phone Service. 7 days from order to install. One complaint was the install, the installer left me without a working internet connection. He could not figure out why it would not work. I called Tech support and they sent another tech out the next day and he fixed it immediately. It was DHCP, my network connection was set up to have a static IP but the cable will not work like that. Only complaint is that the tech should have known that, should not have left me without a working connection. Supplied Webstar modem and ethernet cable. So far, no complaints.

UPDATE: I was recently offered a FREE Upgrade to RoadRunner Turbo. The cost, and additional $4.99 a month for the first 12 months, after that it will cost an additional $7 per month. The Upgrade is for 15000/768, double the download speed for $5 a month isn't a bad deal, even at $7 after the 12 months is up is a good deal. The upgrade took about 24 hours and a reboot of the modem and computer. Pretty consistent speeds from close speed test servers, getting about 14Mb of the 165Mb advertised. Distance servers get me varying results anywhere from 8Mb to 13Mb. All in all I am happy with Roadrunner service, have had no problems that required Tech Support except an email question. Only complaint about Tech Support is that it takes FOREVER to get someone on the phone. My hold time was 45 minutes. Thankfully I haven't had to call them other than that one time.

    Same here

I also signed up for the digital phone, cable, internet package and was also left without a working internet connection. Was told by technician if it was not working to call a number he left on back of his card. Turned out the # was to the company that TWC outsourced its field techs too. Called the #, spoke with receptionist who was kinda stupified as to how I got the #, guess he wasnt supposed to give it out. She put me through to the sup who sent out tech within 4 hrs and still unable to get me online. That tech left me again without internet. Called and spoke with sup again. Sup came out himself and fixed it in less than 5 min. turns out the modem has mac address that has to be activated for it to work. Got 1 month credit on my bill. In the end I was happy with the resolution. Still happy after 4 mo of all service. Only been down once when storm his my area.
