TWC in Bakersfield is now Brighthouse Networks.
Brighthouse networks has 3 tiers, lite standard and premium.
Premium runs at 10/1.
Standard is 7/512
Lite is 1.5/256
I do have a DSL line, running at 6Mbit/768kbit -- $34.95 a month.
I also have RR cable, 10/1 - $64.95 a month.
The tech came to my house right on time, plugged me into the street box, plugged in the cable modem to an outlet, called in the MAC and was ready to go -- all in about 30 minutes.
I bought my own modem beforehand, which is a linksys cable modem.
I cannot keep the cable internet online with a battery backup during a power failure, as the main box goes down with no power backup.
DSL on the otherhand stays online with battery backup.
I never have problems with the "Share bandwidth, with neighborhood".
Brighthouse upgraded the neighborhood box with a fiber. No problems!
I would give Brighthouse and RR 4 stars!
