I started out with Embarq DSL and I had nothing but disconnects and lousy customer service. When the tech told me they couldn't keep sending a repair person out, that was it. I canceled my home phone, DirecTV and switched every thing over to Time Warner Cable.

I was a little skeptical at first because I've always heard that cable gets slow when a lot of people are on but that has not been the case. I ordered the 5MB package with cable and got a special deal for $85 a month for one year with no contract. I was very happy to find out they raised my speed to 7MB last month.

I was also very pleased that the installer changed all the cable lines from the outside box to my inside connections because the line was originally put in by a Dish installer and the ends kept falling off all the time and nobody wanted to change them unless I paid for it.

I got the Motorola SB 5101 cable modem and it has been working flawlessly. Hooked up my Linksys WRT54G router with no problems.

I've had my service since the end of May and I can't complain about a thing.

You work work them, right? You MUST be kidding. I will say that their tech support is pretty good, and I've had to use them quite a bit. There are weekly outages and very slow times, as would be expected from cable. And wait until your power goes out.

    Re: Time Warner Cable

Sorry you feel that way. No, I do not work for them.
I have not had any outages or really had to use tech support for the internet. I did use them for my cable and it was fixed promptly.

What does the power going out have to do with the service? I unplug everything when it storms and the modem and router have started back up with no problems.

if you are using cable IP phone, it will not work unless you have power due to you dsl modem will not run. Embarq Telephone runs on it's own power source so when the power at your house is not on, your phone still works as long as you have a corded phone.

I am not using a cable IP phone. I canceled my DSL because of lousy connection and service and I just decided to cancel my land line phone with it.

My Time Warner Cable and Internet is still working just fine.
