I started out with Embarq DSL and I had nothing but disconnects and lousy customer service. When the tech told me they couldn't keep sending a repair person out, that was it. I canceled my home phone, DirecTV and switched every thing over to Time Warner Cable.
I was a little skeptical at first because I've always heard that cable gets slow when a lot of people are on but that has not been the case. I ordered the 5MB package with cable and got a special deal for $85 a month for one year with no contract. I was very happy to find out they raised my speed to 7MB last month.
I was also very pleased that the installer changed all the cable lines from the outside box to my inside connections because the line was originally put in by a Dish installer and the ends kept falling off all the time and nobody wanted to change them unless I paid for it.
I got the Motorola SB 5101 cable modem and it has been working flawlessly. Hooked up my Linksys WRT54G router with no problems.
I've had my service since the end of May and I can't complain about a thing.
