Quite simply Roadrunner gives you access to the internet. It is generally reliable and I never see speed problems. The caveat of course is that my house wiring is balanced properly and there are no back-feeders or superusers in my area causing problems. Email is not up to par with free web based services. Just use a gmail dont bother with the RR email. Finally on DOCSIS 3.0 upload speed tests do not measure properly. I am unsure of who to give fault for that? Flash? Google? ISP? Works fine in other browsers.
I am currently using a Surfboard 5101 with RR Turbo. My speeds typically boost to like 20Mbps. No bad experiences personally.
