My comments above say it all for now. We've had this service for over a year now. The price was a bit misleading as we ordered online and the price went up after 9 months unexpectedly, granted it was only $8. Then they attempted to exort their customers with modem fees so I gladly got rid of the piece of garbage Ubee modem, bought my own Motorola Surfboard and combined that with a new router and it's turned it into rock solid service. Knock on wood. Don't get their equipment if you can help it is my only advice.

Ubee?

Hi from Albemarle, just a bit south of you. I have the Standard TWC Internet at 15Mbps, and it too is rock solid. But my question: what's wrong with a Ubee modem. Mine works so well and never falters from my purchased 15 Mbps. What am I missing?

Re: Ubee?

I had terrible luck with mine. The signal quality seemed very inconsistent and it gave my work VPN fits with many dropped connections. We tried a few of them and the issues never resolved. Getting the Motorola+Buffalo combo fixed all the issues.

Re: Ubee?

Hmmm.... Regardless of my positive Ubee experience, I might try your Motorola+Buffalo scenario, or some other non-TWC device. I may not know what I'm missing. Thanks.

Pricing

You're getting 30/5 from TWC for $59 a month, and that's after one year so not a promo rate? That's only $5 more than I pay for 15/1 from them. Do you have other TWC services like TV or phone? Other competitors in your area like FiOS or anything like that?

I continue to feel like I'm getting a poor value for $$$ here. But I'm an Internet-only customer, no TV service so they probably put the screws to me.

Re: Pricing

No we have just internet only. When we signed up we got it for about $50 I think. U-verse is really close, but not technically available here. AT&T DSL is only 6M and we had that before and it was awful. We get good 4G service, but no Fios or anything like that.

Re: Pricing

Wow, I am impressed. I even have U-Verse service available at my address. To get 20/2 Turbo from Time Warner they want $70/mo. Forget that.

You're getting a good deal, IMO.
