    There isnt much I can say about OOL that you dont already know. I've had it for a while now, maybe a year and a half. Not once has it gone out. Whenever I call tech support, I hang up happy. The hold time is decent, compared to other companies. I have Dish Network, so I pay $40 a month, but it's still cheaper and better than most other providers. I didn't have cable in my house, yet I was up and running in 3 days. The installation time was from 11-2, and he got here at 11:10. Every since that day, I've been online constantly, without one interruption. There was one streak for about a week where I was getting slow speeds, but I called tech support, and they sent out a tech. They barreled off my splitters, and that fixed it. (Though they stole my splitters) I dont think there is a specified speed range, they only say "up to 100 times faster than 56k", but its not true. I've actually gotten 152 times faster than 56k on the East coast test here at dslr. And it wasnt just a "one-time" thing, that is about an average for me. I dont like Cablevision, personally, I think they are crooks, but they certainly take care of their OOL customers. If your looking into a broadband connection, and OOL is available in your area, I would go for it.

    Update: About 2 years later, I'm still 100% satisfied with my service. I haven't had to make a service call for at least a year.

    Update 2: Seven years later, I couldn't be happier with the service. I can't recall more than one or two connection drops in all of this time.
