11/2/2001 - I ordered for my access to be installed by phone on Friday. Tech lady was very thorough. She gave me a date for the Tech dude to install during Tuesday 11/6/2001 from 9A -12P. He showed up as said at 11:40 or so. The install process was amazing. The Tech guys installed the Coaxial cables with ease. I asked questions and they answered clearly. Of course I had ordered my Terayon TJ110 modem, OOL Self-Install Kit, and they gave me a Kingston NIC Ethernet card for free!! BTW the Tech guys brought them to me from thier van. I did not have to go to WIZ or order through mail. I had a built in Ethernet card in my Compaq PC. But did not even want to bother with that. When I was to activate. I had called up the phone support to take care of that for me because for some reason my account number they had give to me over the phone would not work with the CD internet link. On a closing note, tweaking will get you more satisfaction if you are not satisfied with speeds you get at first in my opinion.
12/04/2004 - Using the Motorola SB4200. I get high speeds, no outages, lowest pings & sychs up quick. I enjoy gaming online, viewing streams & downloading everywhere!
07/22/2008 - I'm currently on the Triple Play package which includes Optimum Voice and Basic/Family TV. The modem is a Motorola SB5120V connected via Ethernet. It's solid and stable, always connected to power due to VOIP telephone service. I restart it via the config dialog or AC plug every 20-30 days. My speeds are near advertised 13-14mbps down and 1-1.5mbps up. So far in my section of Canarsie, Brooklyn I have rarely encountered an outage or serious downtime.
