I ordered OOL self install package on 7/14/03 and after getting a confirmation email and being told I would get it in 7-10 business days, it arrived. I set up the modem and logged in to confirm and everything is working well. Decent speeds, 9078 down and 1014 up. Although I've read that people are getting twice this on download speeds. There was no specific speed to order from OOL/CV, just home or business or self-install or Tech install/Home visit (which costs more). I got the self-install for $29.95 for 1st 6 months and $44.95 thereafter. They send me a Motorola SB5100 cable modem, free to use. It is a brand new modem, working well!
All cables, splitters, and software arived with the package. No problems installing and configuring. Dynamic IP.
So far so good.
So here we are a few years later. OOL has been consistent with down time to speak of. Speeds have actually gotten better over the years. OOL is the best! I have 3 PC's all Networked and running almost perfectly. Haven't had any problems yet! All is still going well, but they should drop their price a bit, especially for Cablevision subscribers.
