Unfortunately, after seeing speeds become more consistent for a short while, OOL is back to what I have come to expect: erratic download and upload speeds, seldom reaching advertised speeds (despite my consistently good tweak tests); connection drops, particularly in the evening; and inconsistent loading of Web pages.
I have not gone to OOL's Boost service because I don't want to pay the additional money and if I can't get their advertised service for regular service (15/2), then I don't expect to get BOOL speeds. Right now, my speeds are 8.8/1.8, which is actually pretty good for me; download usually lags way behind upload versus the advertised speeds.
Verizon FiOS is available in my area, but I don't want to make the switch for a number of reasons. Unfortunately, there are no other cable providers in my area, so it's OOL or nothing for cable connections. If there was another cable provider in the area I would definitely give them a try.
I'm very disappointed with OOL (and Cablevision for TV service), but I don't want to make the change to FiOS at this point, so I have no one to blame buy myself.
