"Very reliable speeds sometimes speeds are more than advertised - a first :)"
"The speeds are capped when downloading music from iTunes :'("
"Better than Road Runner, I am happy to have moved to an area where Optimum Online is available."

I moved from Harlem (upper Manhattan) to the South Bronx so I had no choice but to subscribe to Optimum Online. I wasn't going to have anything to do with Verizon DSL or the like. FIOS isn't in the area yet. They are too expensive and I don't want to go back to their phone service (I am probably the only person on the planet not looking forward to FIOS coming to their area). I cringe when even looking at their bundled packages.
I am currently subscribed to their first time customer triple play package at 29.99 for phone, internet, and television in addition to subscribing to BOOST (30megs up, 5megs down). I almost didn't get the triple play promotion due to the fact that 10 and 18 years ago (might as well be 100 years ago) when I lived in CT I had Cablevision. The customer service representative told me that I was not eligible for the promotion because of this as I was not a new customer and their is no statute of limitation as to how long ago I was a customer of Cablevision (jeeze). Optimum Voice and Optimum Online was not around then - definitely not Optimum Voice!! I just called another customer service representative and he was kind enough to ask his supervisor (without me asking for him) about this and the pricing was adjusted, thank goodness!!
Install went very well the technician was quick and knew what he was doing. Installation. The Motorolla Surfboard Digital Voice modem for internet and Optimum Voice is installed. He made the mistake of installing every channel they offered; I thought I'd hit the jackpot (yay); however, of course, they quickly caught their mistake and removed the extra channels (DAMN... oh well...)
The only problem I have with Optimum Online is that they cap their speeds when I download music, particularly my free podcasts; the speeds literally are at a snail's pace which is disapointing since I have purchased BOOST for an extra $10.00 a month. Road Runner didn't do that to me. Guess you can't have everything. One day I will call technical support to listed to BS song and dance for laughs.
Otherwise I get very good and consistent speeds maybe this is due to me moving into a new building with brand new wiring or not everyone has moved into the building yet to hog up the bandwidth (please let me be wrong), who knows - everyone else on the site has been complaining about OO.
