Since FiOS isn't available in my area the only other option I considered was DSL. However, in terms of speed available, there is no contest between DSL and Optimum. The savings gained with DSL isn't worth the loss of speed and stability that you get with Optimum Online.
Currently paying 49.95 a month for Cablevision's standard Optimum Online service. Starting 5/22 I will be paying $100 a month for Cablevision's Ultra service. Up to 101 mb/s down.
Initially a contractor installed my line and did a rather poor job. Cablevisio'n subsequently sent out a Cablevision employee (non contractor), he did a fantastic job.
I have Optimum Voice, I received a Webstar modem.
