Good "Good speeds for the price, no usage caps (that I can find), wifi in public areas"
- Location: Norwalk,Fairfield,CT
- Cost: $30 per month (12 month contract)
- Install: about 14 days
Bad "Inconsistent speeds during peak hours"
Overall "A lot faster for the same price as the other option in my area (AT&T)"

Value for money:
(ratings match consensus)
I ordered the basic internet package (15/2) and it was installed without incident using a WebSTAR DPX2203 modem (DOCSIS 2). I've generally been happy with my speeds which have stayed in the 12-15 Mb range during off-peak hours, but often plummet to ~2Mb range or lower during peak hours.
My other option was AT&T DSL, but after having a bad experience with AT&T in Chicago, I was eager to steer clear of them.
The one bad thing I have to say about Optimum Online is that their web interface for account management is quite terrible and difficult to use.
