Clarification on Total monthly cost. $116 before taxes. I don't know the final cost as i haven't gotten my first bill yet. I think that like AT&T, they'll quote cost before taxes. AT&T's final cost left me with a bitter taste 2 years ago too. UPDATE: $123 after taxes. I got BOOST which tested at 25m / 6m on the day of install 3 weeks ago. Today it tested at 8.5m/6.9m. The morning before the switchover, UVerse tested at 4.3m/944. HD tv is plentiful and cheap too. So much for the good....I'm a TV watcher and optimum TV control sucks. It's slow to communicate to the central office for everything which leads to burps and farts in channel changing, and worst of control of recorded TV -- DVR. Now, when asking DVR to play a currently recording show, or 1 that finished recording recently, it takes 2, or 3 minutes to begin???? When the salesman gloated about the benefits of DVR having Central Office centric control, how much was he laughing inside? I have Samsung STB's another glowing review by the salesman. Panned universally here on DSLR. ( EDITED 1/5/12 to be more tolerant of CV ) --> I have learned to live with uncertainty while $aving money. I'll see in a year when AT&T comes back calling how willing I am to $pend the dollar$ for the sleeker and better performing UVerse system. Optimum GUI is like DOS on VGA. Upate 12/16/2011 My 1-2 minute delay in start up of the DVR program still comes and goes. My first bill came in at $118. Close enough to the $116 promised to make it a solid plus in CV's favor. Upate 1/5/2012 My old laptop now unstable on wireless so i plugged back in with a wire and all is good again. The instability seemed to arise after being on for over a month, and others have reported this too. Upate 2/01/2012 My first 2 bills are not the final rate due to startup modifications. Turns out my base rate will be $123. Closer to the AT&T price of $153. U-verse is looking better. Any sales guys out there? DVR still poor. Wireless unstable sometimes with my nook tablet. HD still looks good. Had a complete outage of DVR and channel guide one night in Jan UPDATE 2/10/12 Got the App for Iphone, and Ipod. Works. Watch Live tv on on tiny little hand held devices. Now please how about my nook? UPDATE 08/28/12: My previous 2 to 3 minutes for a DVR program to start was caused by the cable box! The installer stuck me with a box he had handy in his van - ( it was dusty ). I traded in my samsung HD box for a new one and problem solved. This Installer was a real sleezebag for this and his botched telephone hook up he tried to blame on me. NEXT: The DVR+ menu upgrade is a vast improvement. Navigation is much more intuitive and precise, programs are organized, and the view is much better, seeing a list of 10 selections at a glance rather than 3. What i would like to see is live thumbnail previews in the info bar when watching and surfing. AT&T and Verizon do it. The other obvious want list item is to upgrade the menu for the channel guide like they did DVR+. Get rid of those obnoxious A B C buttons, modernize the graphics, have an easier "search for program" function, and change the remote. That huge I/O button in the middle. Does anyone use it?
