I "switched" over to Optimum about seven months ago... even though everything still rides and routes over the Bresnan network. Simply put, download speeds are not consistent. On the open internet I see on average about 2.5Mbps... to the local Bresnan (Optimum West) speedtest server I see no more than 4.5Mbs within their network.
I cannot watch anything on Roku without it having to buffer at least twice per show.
Tech support is horrible. If I conducted myself the way I have experienced Optimum staff I would have been fired a long time ago, and my position is not at-will. It would be nice is someone knows how to think outside the box and not simply follow the onscreen script.
I have switched out all of my gear and wiring, even bought my own modem, had the wiring re-ran from the tap... Just to eliminate anything within my house. Simply put they have an over-sold over-congested system here... and no signs or communications they are trying to improve anything. Duoply at its best!
