Attleboro has gone through more cable providers then I can count. Currently comcast has taken over. I have had comcast since they have taken over and have had previous cable internet providers for about 7 years now. Comcast is probably the only real isp offered in the area besides verizon however most areas in attleboro only get 768 down which is terrible compared to comcast. Comcast basic plan offers 6mb/384kb. They also introduced powerboost which will bring your speeds to around 18mb/2mb however these "boosts" only last about 20-40 seconds so is really only good for viewing web based videos or sites, it is not used for serious downloading.
As far as reliability Comcast is on top of things. I have never really had any outages or issues with comcast service. The speed is usually constant and only occasionally drops.
As far as e-mail comcast offers plenty of mailboxes which also come with webspace. I cant really comment on their email reliability since I never use it, however I do know they offer symantec based mailbox protection.
Additional benefits of comcast are few. They do offer 2 gb a month of giganews based newsgroup service which retails for about 7 dollars a month. They also offer customers Mcafee Internet security for free, however personally I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot poll.
DISLIKES: Past few years comcast has been doing more and more shady things. Im sure many of you read the news. Expect things like traffic shaping for torrent users and bandwidth limits that are not disclosed by comcast. They send you a letter if you exceed it and if you don't change they disconnect you for a year. I however have yet to see any letter and i hear as long as you stay well under 200gb TOTAL upload and download you shouldnt receive a letter.
BOTTOM LINE: Comcast isnt the worst service out there however its not the best either... If fios ever makes it to attleboro I would jump ship in a second. Right now though there is really no other choice which sucks. Use comcast or get verizon and have a huge speed drop.
