Updated as of November 2007:
We have canceled with Comcast and switched back to Qwest. Qwest 7MB has become available in our area, and with Qwest's "price for life", we liked that a whole lot better than the annual increases that come from cable.
Although we had no problems with Comcast, and enjoyed the speed, I am glad I can get comparable performance for significantly less cost.
Old Review:
I've recently come back to Comcast after being with Qwest's MSN Premium DSL. We were stuck in our area at the 1500/896 with no upgrades in the foreseeable future. When Comcast started offering its "Triple Play" deal of tv/internet/voice, I had to jump (just so I could get back on the Internet).
So far we love the Internet. It has been fast, reliable and always up. I haven't seen a whole lot in the "power burst" department they are advertising, but my speed has been very good to date. The speeds seem to fluctuate a fair amount between speed tests, anywhere from 4800-ish to 10K+, but always fast. The latency seems good to most every site I go too as well. I am a big PC gamer so this is very important to me for online gaming.
I can say the same about the Digital Voice. We really like having the ability to look online at call history, listen to Voice Mail and get email notifications when a VM is left. This has really helped us to be more efficient in returning calls, etc. The sound quality is great. You cannot even tell you are using VoIP type technology.
We really don't use the TV portion. We currently have DirecTV and love it. We did not have a satellite feed run into the basement, so we use the cable TV feed for that TV down there. From what I've seen, the picture and audio quality of our satellite is far superior to cable right now.
All in all, I am really glad we've come back. I know Comcast is more expensive than some other providers, but I'm an Internet speed junkie, so it is worth it to me in many ways. Their Digital Voice is great and you cannot go wrong with unlimited long distance. Their TV signal still leaves something to be desired, especially when satellite broadcasts all channels in digital and Comcast still uses analog for many of their channels.
