10 days after ordering comcast cable internet access through the Staples website a technician was on site to install my service. I don't know why a tech had to come to me to do this as the install was nothing more than him accessing their proxy server to register my modem. The service has been fairly reliable so far after 2 months. I have not had any contact with tech support to know if they are any good or not. There has been no need to call them yet. I am sure that at some point I will have to. I had BellSouth FastAccess for over 4 years until the cable service was available in my area. I haven't looked back since I got service from Comcast. It is over twice as fast and $10 a month cheaper, plus by signing up through Staples I am getting $150 rebate if I keep the service for 180 days. I don't see me switching for a lot longer than that unless the service starts to deteriorate. My speed with the DSL had steadily dropped and it was always my fault according to tech support at BellSouth until my constant complaining made them do something and each and every time it was there problem at the central office. So far I am a satisfied customer of Comcast.
Well, I have had my Comcast service for almost 3 years now. I can count the number of times that it has been down on 1 hand. There are times that it gets a little slow but I never know if that is Comcast or just the internet getting slow. The last couple of days I have had trouble connecting and actually gotten very professional people on the phone who knew what they were talking about. It turns out that my Linksys router had gone bad after 4 years of continuous service. After replacement everything is back to normal and really fast. I could not imagine having to deal with AT&T and DSL again. I lived with it from BellSouth for some years as my only alternative. I am satisfied and happy with Comcast. The Slowski's are so right about DSL and Comcast. I do find it comcastic!
Well, add another 2 years to my Comcastic experience and I must say that it continues to be very positive. The down times in all the time I have had the service could be counted on 1 hand. the download speeds are unimaginable to me not too long ago. I used to think that getting a download at 110/kbps on DSL was great but now with downloads over 1/MBps that is long forgotten. Fortunately I have only needed tech support on 1 occasion when as it turns out my router was going out. It took awhile to reach a person but once I did they were actually knowledgeable and helpful in resolving my issue. I am still a very happy Comcast customer. I use them for both internet and digital cable with HD. They have been superior for me.
Well, I have now been using Comcast as my ISP for over 3 years and I am still pretty satisfied with them. The service is consistantly fast and been reliable. My biggest complaint is with tech support should you need them. It took me 3 hours on hold one evening to get a friend's modem on the network. It took only about 15 minutes after I got to a representative but 3 hours on hold is just crazy. All in all Comcast HSI is not badly priced for what you get. I will see how close to the limits I get now that I am downloading versions of Windows 7 as well as my usual surfing.
