Before i came to Washington i used to live in Oklahoma, with SBC (1500/254), and they were wonderful, so i needed the same kinda speed. I looked into Qwest but i just heard the pings in my area were garbage, so i decided to get comcast because of the 3 months for 19 buck deal. Mmmmmmmmmm. That Saturday i ran to my local comcast office and he setup the modem and the line in about 5 minutes and gave me the self install kit ::i'm not a noob and didn't want to wait:: as soon as i got home, i linked up the modem to my router and the line and they synced up, but no go. The i remember i had to register it. About 5 mins it was done so I hooked it back up to my router and now i can live life again! Overall, the best part about it was the speed that they had me up and running, 15 Minutes from order?!?? BTW i'm a "heavy" downloader but i haven't got a letter yet so.
Update!
Still in Washington as of 4 / 1 / 08. I don't have the opportunity to use comcast in my past location. I use it alot at my girlfriends house and so far, it seems to produce decent speeds. Power boost is far and in between though, even for servers where I know the pipe is rather large. Newsgroups (Giganews) run pretty quick so I'm satisfied on that front...
