$22.95 for 6 months with free basic install, $44.95/mo. after that. 3down and 256 up. Excellent salesperson who followed up with me as I had been waiting for network upgrade in my area for availability. Install cd was faulty and would'nt load but when I called tech support they were able to get me online without the software in a matter of 5 minutes and this was during the early evening rush hour. I would say so far that I am satisfied with the service and value from Comcast.

Recently went to the gold package 4.0/384. Speeds on the silver pkg actually dropped somewhat after several months and remained steady at 2.7 down and 230 up. I'm now getting 3.5/340 pretty regularly and anticipating the 6/784 upgrade. Overall, Comcast service has been extremely reliable with no outages at all. Very dependable.

A 447.1 KB/sec transfer rate.

Tried the gold tier for a couple months ( 6/768) and really could not see the value for the increase in $$, at least for basic surfing and that. Other than the latest 2 DNS issues, which I was able to work around thank's to this site, I have been happy with the service from Comcast. I have not had any other issues at all. I would not mind, however, if they were to lower there prices.

Still satisfied with service. Swapped out the rented sb3100 modem and purchased a 5100 motorola and speeds increased consistently.

Still rock solid connection. Have powerboost upload and download. This blows any DSL away.

Incredible speed!

Just received D3 upgrade for no additional charge! Picked up new modem at local office and am now showing 22/5 tier with powerboost. Nice upgrade. This is a smoking connection! No Fios or ATT U Verse around here.

Comcast too expensive....

expecally for what you're getting. Consider this, you're paying (after 6 months) $44.95 for a 3/256 connection. Now, I'm gonna get flamed here, but thats just a rip off. Verizon Online DSL is is $30 (with a 1 year commitment) for 3/768, and other Bells have similar offers. SBC has a 3/512 offer for 25 a month. I'm not sure about SBC's support, but I know Verizon's support is exelent. The Verizon encore deal with 24/7 support and no waiting if you have DSL and phone bundled is great. They even refered me to this site, even though I already knew about it

Re: Comcast too expensive....

Verizon is my local phone company but because I am in the "boonies" their service is not available to me. I am however benefiting from them as I called Comcast and let them know I received a letter a while back that I could get DSL from Verizon for 19.99/month so Comcast matched that price for me for 12 months. I could never get 4/384 from Verizon much less the upgrade to 6/384 coming soon from Comcast. I have been very satisfied with my broadband and my digital cable services from them and it would take a lot to make me switch.:)

if you look close at the disclaimer from verizon, they do not, I repeat DO NOT guarantee any of their speeds. OOPS looks like it isn't that great of an offer, now does it?
