UPDATE 11/12/07: ==== About 4 or 5 months ago I went ahead and dropped comcast digital voice. Nothing wrong with the service, I just found that I genuinely NEVER use the home phone. And since I had recently upped to a new MyFaves family plan with tmobile, i barely use 10% of my 1000 anytime minutes every month.
Basically, paying the 30 or so bucks a month for CDV was just a waste of money, because i was NEVER using it. Anyways, it was a wonderful service and i never had trouble.
Currently i have limited basic cable and speed tier internet.
==== A few months back I dropped Vonage for Comcasts Digital Voice, along with my 8/768 Service. I haven't looked back since. In the time span since the switch, I have had absolutely ZERO downtime, and the integrated battery backup has saved us on many occasions during power outages.
My only complaints would remain tech support, and then price, but it *is* the most cost effective offer here at the moment. There are rumors of FIOS coming to town from the neighbor, who is a Verizon tech. So we shall see what happens when that comes around.
I am currently paying 103.78 all included with tax. That is 55.95 for speed tier internet, 29.26 for Digital Voice and 14.76 for limited basic cable, and 3.82 in taxes and fees.
