I was paying $30/month for Verizon DSL and getting 1.7Mbps. Installed Comcast cable and and now paying the same price for over 4Mbps. Also, I was able to install a VoIP service (Sunrocket) and transfer my number since I was on Cable. Also get Comcast HDTV so was able to consolidate those bills.
So far I've been pretty happy with the HSI - although I seem to get more page errors than I did with Verizon (This Page Cannot be Displayed). Maybe its something in my settings...I'm still working on that...but I do notice more problems since I switched.
Used the chat customer service once - pretty good feedback, but didn't solve my problem - they told me the cable was fine.
Overall, happy so far - but I know I'll have to negotiate another deal when my year of $30/month is up - but hey, that's a year from now!
6/10/08 update: I've been with Comcast for several years now...after I moved they were willing to offer me another promotional deal due to change of address...but now I'm not getting any discounts/promotions for sticking with them. Will not stay for this price unless they offer me something better...
9/17/08 update: I called last week and spoke to the 'retention department' because I was serious about cancelling and switching to dish. They lowered my bill from $128 to $82 (cable/internet), for a year - so I'm staying for 1 more year!
