My Other Reviews·WOW Internet and C..
I have the 8 mbps cable service and it's fast. Installation was simple because I was switching over from WOW cable. All the tech had to do was change the wiring on the box outside the house and replace the WOW cable boxes with Comcast ones.

The only inconvenience there was that the Motorola boxes from CC don't have S-Video like the SA ones from WOW. So, I had to do a little bit of rewiring.

The TV and Internet service has been flawless. No outages and the picture is as clear as a bell. The HSI speeds are out of this world compared to WOW. Which is the reason I switched.

WOW was unable to provide me full speeds because they don't fully support bring your own modem people who have Motorola (among others) modems. I have an SB5100 and couldn't get faster than 4 mbps. Apparently WOW has not been able to obtain the right config files. I switched to Comcast and bang, the faster speeds were no problem.

In about 8-9 months, my intro rates will expire and the prices will shoot up. I'm hoping that I can stomach that steep rise. If not, I'm hoping WOW will have gotten off their collective hind ends and enabled faster speeds for the Motorola owners out there.

    Edit:

So, I'm still with Comcast, but I have their digital service with DVR (last 6 months). It's really been pretty flawless over these past two years. I don't think I need more than a single finger to count the number of outages that I've had.

Comcast has also been pretty easy to deal with on the payment front as well. They've cheerfully given me discounts to keep up with WOW pricing. So, I've gotten great customer service as well. I'll be calling soo to get more discounts, since mine are starting to fall off again.
