    Comcast is worth the cash if only because they're it for true broadband (DSL just isn't enough when you're a downloader and have servers to pipe).

    Speed: Up to 6Mb
    Install went easily (a lot because I know what I'm doing).
    Modem: Motorola Surfboard SB5101
    Dynamic config

    The good:
    ~Speed is good if you make sure to have the line tech check the amp sync during install. A bad amp will cause nothing but grief.
    ~Make sure they're using the good cables. Good EMI shielding will keep you in the green the whole time.
    ~Make sure you've got a straight shot at the amp from your residence. Splitting cables reduces efficiency quick.

    The bad:
    ~Know your stuff from the get go. If you don't know what to ask for they'll give you the run around on the phone.
    ~Don't let them muscle you. If you buy a separate router (and a good one) don't let them try to charge you more. It's perfectly legal to have a NAT device behind their modem.
    ~If you buy your own modem make sure you know how to configure it securely.

    The truth:
    Comcast isn't as bad as everyone would like to say. Everyone hates corporate america. Yes, it can be costly, but you really won't find much better in the state of Utah.
