I am happy with Comcast HSI. I feel they are more reliable and way faster than Verizon DSL. I was getting 2.8mbps/700kbps with Verizon DSL. Not bad but everytime I make a change with Verizon, they find a way to mess it up. The last straw was when I tried to switch to Dry-Loop (naked) DSL. The switch was fine for the first 2 days then I suffered through 6 days without DSL. Then they restored it at 1.5 mbps down. By the time they finally got it correct, I had already called Comcast. I am using the little known "Limited Basic" TV plan so I can bundle in the HSI speed tier (8000/768) for a few dollars less. The limited basic costs $9.66 pre-tax so in the end I pay $65 instead of $67.95 ($52.95 + $9.66 + tax). I know, not much saving over unbundled and I don't use the TV connection at all (having 32 high def stations with Dish plus 6 locals in HD). I always exceed 8mbps/768kbps (sometimes getting up to 23mbps down and averaging 13-14mbps). I'm usually getting better than 800kbps up as well. So I'm happy and excited about what Docsis 3.0 can bring. I might even stay with Comcast after the redlining cherry pickers at Verizon finally get around to even negotiating with the City of Baltimore on FIOS (FIOS is surrounding us north south east and west just across city limits in the affluent suburbs of Baltimore County, Howard County, Anne Arundel County and Montgomery County).
