Wow, after some months of deliberation I thought I would try HD and connect a DVR. The tech at the local Comcast store verified I could hang a second DVR in the same configuration I have now --- Tivo connected to the cable box. The instructions they gave said check online for specifics of how to do that. I actually could not find them so I tried the online chat. I should have known better from my previous experience with an internet problem. The tech couldn't wait to hurridly tell me they don't support that setup.
It's not that I can't do it myself, the issue is the arrogant non support in the face of continuous rising prices. Even the original install of the cable and internet by a tech were bad. The guy couldn't wait to tell me he would not go in my neighbors yard to flip the box switch, and that he had verified the internet connection was working and it was MY job to connect my computer. He did not even understand XP. I stayed with them even with a slow cable box because the internet connection was really fast. There were those times when it went down of course. The standard answer for tech support was "recycle the power, we weren't the cause." Here I hock up a hairball like my cat.
I am really irritated I was lied to and will take a slower DSL over this BS. I just don't think they deserve my business any longer. Calm down calm down. It's not reality.....
