I scheduled my install which had to be 7 days out since that was the earliest appointment time they had. 2 days before the tech came out I hooked the linksys modem up and low and behold a sync with an IP just no actually internet other than their gateway page. I am just not sure why they had to actually send a tech out to do nothing other than make a phone call to finish the activation part. I bet if they would schedule the install and the person at the house set it up and got sync with no problems they should save the customers money through their monthly rate being lower by than cancelling the call and letting the customer finish the rest of the activation process.

I don't like the fact that I have to pay an extra fee since I don't get their cable service and the fact that it seems I am capped even lower from what I am paying for because I am not a cable subscriber. As for what I am paying and for what I am actually receiving I have to give things a poor mark. I pay for 6mbps and at best have seen 4mbps on speed tests and usually only see 2mbps. And on large downloads I have seen zip for any speed boost (power boost) at the start of the download.

This is not that worst service I have had but it is not even close to the value for the money I had with Qwest DSL (I had moved and DSL was not available when I first moved in). So all-in-all I am most likely not going to stay with them and I am in a hunt once again for a service that is reliable, gets close to what I request for speed and is at a good value for dollar. Now that Qwest has naked DSL and they provide service in my area I may just give them shout for service.
