I'm not sure when I wrote my review below...but I take it all back now....
Comcast has gotten worse, not better here in Sarasota....at least for me.
My speeds are much slower than previously. The Mcaffee software...well...you can no longer pick and choose between the modules. You have to take all or none....I prefer none and to use my own security software now...
And ever since they switched to all digital, our picture and sound breaks up on a rgular basis, making watching anything an exercise in frustration...not to mention that they removed MSNBC AND our PBS station from their basic listings....so now if you want either of those two, you have to upgrade.....i.e.give them more money.
They gotten too big and too greedy.....

I've had Comcast (TV and internet) for at least nine years now. I doubt my service, in two locations, has been down more than a dozen times in nine years and when it is, it's not long before I have service again. I can't recall the last time it was down here.....
I have considered DSL, which would be through Verizon, but have seen way too many others have way too many problems with them, not to mention Verizon's non-existent customer service. Also, over this past summer, I spent 3 months away from home. The area I was working in had Comcast service and the condo I rented already had basic TV service. The 1st thing I did when I got there, even before unpacking, was to call Comcast to see how long it would take to get internet service hooked up. Within 60 minutes, I was able to call Comcast, place my order, drive to the office, pick up the goodies, and was back at the condo and online....in 60 minutes. Try that with Verizon....or anything else.
I've always had their basic speed packages and they just keep making it faster. I have no need to order anything else.
I suppose I'm fortunate that I've not had any bad experiences with Comcast so far. I wish the service was cheaper, but when I think about how much I use my internet service compared to how much I use my phone service and the phone service is more expensive!

Oh, yeah....the free stuff.....
They offer that free McAfee security suite, which I think is great. So far it's worked well for me and also for any of my clients systems that I set up. For most of those, I istall the entire suite. I only use the firewall because I use a couple other free programs that I prefer. But hey....the McAfee stuff seems to work just fine.
OTOH, I tried using their file storage and the interface for that, and I suppose for the website builder, sucks. I simply wanted to use it to store files there temporarily when I set up a new system for a client. I hated it...maybe it'll be fixed soon....
