If you have Verizon FIOS in your area and have a regular phone line, it are both cheaper and faster for you. If you don't have a hard line phone, you're on Comcast because Verizon isn't offering naked FIOS.

I have been very happy with Comcast's service so far here in Londonderry. The only problem I currently have with Comcast is that I'm getting these copyright infringement notices for things that I'm not downloading. If I was actually downloading stuff, I'd know the actions I could take to make them stop coming, but when I'm not doing anything... it gets worrisome. I work full time in the computer field so I don't come from a technologically inept background, and I don't use a wireless router, so I'm not having issues with other people accessing my network.

I JUST GOT A COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT NOTICE FOR DOWNLOADING SOME CHICK FLICK. GOD DAMN IT COMCAST, COULDN'T YOU MAKE IT SOMETHING A BIT MORE MANLY!?

I ranked tech support low because in the one time I had to deal with them, the problem was on their end and they wouldn't admit it. I have two NICs in my computer and tried to re-sync them both on a couple of times and Comcast insisted the problem was that I have bad network cards and I need to buy another. A few hours later my Comcast was amazingly working again without me doing anything on my behalf. No less, other than that I can't recall another time the connection was down for more that 15 minutes and even then it's extremely rare.

This review sounds mainly negative but aside from the high bill and other things noted above, Comcast has had good service in this area. I know that others have complained in other areas, but I have been satisfied so far with their service here even though we haven't been upgraded to the 2 MB upload tier yet.

Have you ever had FiOS before?

One reason for the possible NIC issue could be an arp time out. This is typically fixed with a reboot of the cable modem.
