The only other option for broadband available in my area is DSL service via AT&T. Not sure if it's available naked, but the hassle involved in getting a naked DSL connection prevented any interest I might have had since I have no use for a POTS line. I believe the speed offered by Comcast in my area is 6Mbit down, 1Mbit up, but I'm not certain. Install was a breeze, as the tech rolled in on moving day and got things connected in a snap. The only real comment on my experience with Comcast is that they've disconnected our service twice for no reason. The tech that came out to fix it nearly a week later (each time) told us that it looked like a previous tech doing an install for another customer in the building was too lazy to add a splitter and just disconnected our service to get the other customer connected. Comcast offered no compensation for our troubles.
