Comcast Cable Corporation, althought the largest cable operator in the country. It is a very good company in general for many various reasons. They invest into each community they have a presence in, they always are available to help on the phone.

Their internet speed is lacking speed now with Verizon's Fios service, Comcast is slow to catch up, but this happened previously with DSL and Cable Internet (when they first came about). Comcast already has plans as usual to upgrade/change the capabilities and features of its products and services.

    Update - 1/5/2009 - Upgraded to Docsis 3.0 (Ultra Tier - 22Mbps Down 5Mbps Up)

Well, I upgraded seamlessly to Docsis3.0 and am subscribing to Ultra (22/5Mbps) which is really fast. Everything is great months since then (2/5/2009), and no problems what so ever. I also had them install home-networking so I could get a wireless-n router to improve wireless in my house. The router has had a few issues, but I pretty much resolved those (Netgears router - WNR3500) myself. The router had intermittent loss of LAN and Wireless connections for split second about 3+ times a day, updated firmware and that was resolved. But Docsis3.0 with Comcast is excellent, everything loads on a webpage in less than 1 second. Very stable as well, haven't had any downtime or outages since install.

Durring install, it took a bit, but they were very thorough, and did a great job setting it all up (these were in-house Comcast technicians). I have yet had to call tech support yet for any of my Comcast services.

    Re: Comcast?

Well I recently have had nothing but problems with the Wireless-N router (Netgear WNR3500) that I have through Comcast, and its been non stop since I got it. Not everything is perfect, but cable tv and internet (excluding router) is fine, phone has only had issue maybe 2 times in the year I've had it, and both times with the phone it was easily corrected over the phone. Just remember not every customer of Comcast has a reoccuring problem or other instance to make them hate Comcast. I'm just happy to have had very little problems with Comcast. I had more problems after I left Verizon Fios - thats what left a bad taste in my mouth. It only takes one extremely bad thing sometimes to make someone not want to ever use a company for services ever again.
